How To Record And Send Audio Messages With Siri In iOS 14

Starting with iOS 14 you can record and send audio messages with Siri. This allows you to communicate with a contact without touching your iPhone. It's particularly helpful when you're driving.

All that you have to do is invoke Siri with the help of the 'Hey Siri' command and speak out 'Send audio message to [contact name] '.

If you have multiple contacts with the same name saved on your iPhone or iPad you'll be asked to pick the one that you wish to contact. Else, Siri will ask you to speak out the audio message.

Stop speaking when you finish and the recording will be displayed, framed on the Siri interface. You can ask Siri to replay it or directly send it.

The audio message becomes available in the Messages app, in the discussion thread that you use with the specific contact.

Fact: Audio messages are deleted, by default, after 2 minutes. You can tweak this in Settings - Messages - Audio Messages. Set Expire to 'Never'.
