The first thing that you have to do after updating your iPhone to iOS 14 is to install all available updates in the App Store. Third-party apps are now updated with support for iOS 14 and new versions are released daily.

Update all your apps as soon as an update is available and you might unveil third-party widgets for your iPhone Home Screen and even trigger some hidden iOS 14 features like the option to change the default web browser and mail client on your iPhone.

In this video we show you how to update all apps at once, how to set DuckDuckGo as default iPhone web browser, replacing Safari and Microsoft Outlook as default mail client instead of the stock Mail app.

This is the first thing that you have to do after updating your iPhone to iOS14.

Welcome to the iPhoneTricks.org YouTube channel and let's dive right into the content!

Long-press on App Store, tap on 'Updates'. Refresh and hit 'Update All'.

Why is this important because iOS14 brings lots of new features and enhancements and third-party apps have to update to it in order to benefit from all the new functions.

For example, you see here Shazam informing you that it's ready for iOS 14.

Update DuckDuckGo and you're informed that you can use it as a default browser on your iPhone.

Search for DuckDuckGo in the Settings app. Tap on it! Select 'Default Browser App' and set DuckDuckGo as the default browser on your iPhone.

The same goes for Microsoft Outlook. If you update it you'll be able to use it as the default mail client on your iOS 14 device.

Scroll for the app in Settings. Tap on Outlook, select 'Default Mail App' and switch for 'Outlook'.

After you install all app updates, long-press on the Home Screen. Tap the '+' icon, in the top-left corner of the screen and scroll for the available widgets list.

Here try to pinpoint a new widget. For example. DuckDuckGo, in my case, choose the size and tap on 'Add Widget'.

And go back to the list and see if you can spot a new third-party widget that wasn't available before.

Pedometer is a new one for me. Add Widget and tap 'Done'.

For more third-party Home Screen widgets you can visit iPhoneTricks.org. I've provided a link in the description, and... scroll through the list to see which apps have already updated with this feature. We have about 40 collected at the moment but this is an open list and we are updating it several times a day.

Just tap on the link and download the app, and install the widget from the list.
