Apple has added a new stock app to the iOS environment. Starting with iOS 12 you can now measure surfaces and objects with the help of your iPhone and iPad camera and the Augmented Reality environment as demoed in this video.
How To: Open the new Measure app that is available on your Home Screen, move your iPhone to calibrate, select a starting point. Move the camera viewer until you reach the end point. Copy your measurement or snap a frame with your work!
